There will be a public hearing for the property at 451 East 38th Street on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Beurt SerVaas Public Assembly Room on the Second Floor of the City-County Building, 200 East Washington Street.
Kelly Lavengood Schenkel is wanting to turn the property known as “the building with the blue roof” into her residential real estate business. Additionally, she will also have private office space available for lease to other small businesses with shared common areas such as conference rooms and a kitchen. Kelly plans to restore the exterior of the building will take special care in preserving the original blue tile roof. While the building is not designated as historic, she still says she respects it’s history and values the architecture.
The Mapleton Fall Creek Neighborhood Association supports Kelly in her efforts to restore the building and bring new business into the area. Please feel free to email the neighborhood board with any further questions and we encourage you to attend the public hearing.
